#JustWatched The Drop (Michaël R. Roskam, 2014)

I loved how intimate this film felt. I think that has a lot to do with the bigger, criminal aspect of the film playing second to the more character focused aspects. But then everything ties together. Everything means something and nothing is wasted. Tom Hardy does something similar in his performance. He's holding back and then he comes at you hard. Naomi Rapace was great. She's one of those unique actors that I don't always recognise because she really is the roles she plays. Like wearing a different mask.

And James Gandolfini. The guy has such incredible presence, whatever he's in and still he had so much more to give. Couldn't help but watch him in this with a heavy heart.
